Paste Up

What this is

Wellington already has two good gig guides — Eventfinda and UnderTheRadar — for ticketed, commercially promoted shows. This isn’t trying to compete with either of them.

Paste Upis for the tier underneath that: free shows, all-ages nights, and small-venue/DIY gigs that have no ticket to sell, so they have little reason to end up on a ticketing platform. Right now that scene lives on scattered Instagram stories and Facebook events — easy to miss unless you already follow the right accounts.

Listings here are submitted by the people running the night— a venue, a promoter, an artist — not scraped from social media. That keeps the accuracy burden with whoever actually knows the gig is real, and avoids the fragility (and terms-of-service risk) of scraping Instagram or Facebook.

Every submission gets a quick manual check before it goes live, to keep spam out while the list of contributors is still small.

It’s deliberately starting small: a handful of venues and recurring nights, not an attempt to cover everything from day one. If that’s useful for your night or venue, get in touch to submit.
